Useful Features for the Scheduler Portlet
Option to zoom in and out of the scheduler window. I would suggest a + | - button at the top right of the portlet.
Option to Pan through the time line when selecting blank spaces on the scheduler.
If we happen to do a change on the scheduler, for example change the task to a different date, then the update takes time - freezing the whole portlet. It would be nicer to have the updating circle happening at the top right, whilst allowing the user to still browse the scheduler.

Point 3 is very important. I was thinking about it and probably a better option could be to deliver a "save" (sync) button, instead of async synchronization of changes somewhere in the backend. This will help us avoid too many synchronizations where the user reorganizes the plan by moving elements "back and forth" until they found an optimal plan. It will also be easier for us to implement "bulk update" and save all changes in one transaction - not only faster, but also more predictable when an error occurs.
